test sky

A little test I put together in after effects to see how i could get around the problem of the sky changing colour as the sun sets in the background of my film. I still think the sky would look better if it was boiling, but i don't think I can get away with anything less than a hefty wodge of frames for the boil- it would be too obvious if it was just a couple of frames like the sun. plus you wouldnt get that blooming cloud effect i'm after. Still, i think the colour change itself looks pretty good..! I might see how i feel after the sky is behind trees etc before i attempt to boil it, my scanner does not like crinkly watercolour paper, and my lightbox insists on making paint invisible to the naked eye...
